have a hitec servo HS-805BB on a jaguar 90 rigger its 1/4 scale size is it worth keeping this or changing it for a different servo

It depends to some extent on the condition of the gears and bearings. I’m not familiar with that particular servo, but it should have plenty of torque for the boat. On the other hand, if it’s the straight, standard 805BB, it’ll have nylon gears. This is less of a problem, in a 1/4 scale case, than a standard servo case (bigger case, more room for bigger, stronger gears), and I think the 805BB was fairly popular in big engined boats; even for outboards, which are harder still on gears. You can still get the 805MG gears; which are retro-fittable (might be worth looking under the hood, in case someone’s done it previously).
